We Are Approved!!

The call came in and I heard, “John, we got the last signature. The building is ours to use.”  No words came.  It took a moment for the truth to sink.  We got approved!!  I couldn’t believe it and said so, “You know, I knew this call would come one day, but I really didn’t expect to be getting it yet.”  “I know.  Me neither!"

About two hours after this call, I stopped by the property and saw people from our church already there hard at work, doing all the things that need to be done before we can worship there.   Right now, the computer network is a complex tangle of ethernet, fiber optic, and co-ax cables that needs to be wired together still. The sound table is framed in and being built out.  The worship center has chairs and the stage is almost finished, but speakers and lights and video screens and more still need to be installed.  (Next time you see Patrick, Daniel or Zach, thank them for the incredible work and thought they've put in to make the new worship center not only operational, but optimal for our use.)

I walked into the hallway and saw that the nursery is already undergoing expansion.  (Wahoo!!)  In the next few days, some additional staircases, walkways and handrails will be put in.  Lord willing, classrooms will have cabinetry installed next week.  (Lots of thanks to a deacon whose name rhymes with O'Brallahan.)  We also have some ladies working on decor, so that the campus feels less commercial and more friendly.

THE BIG QUESTION IS... WHEN DO WE GET TO MEET THERE??

As I walked around, I felt affirmed in the statement we made Sunday.  We are going to get the work done now so that our first worship service there is full of joy and not overcome by challenges and breakdowns.  We want you to enter, celebrate and give undistracted thanks with us for all that God has done, and will do.  So here is the date for our first day on campus:

Sunday, October 27

Ink it in your calendar.

I believe that God will do new and great things in the days ahead.  I am confident that He is leading us in His perfect plan, through a path that none of us would ever choose, so that we would depend on Him entirely and HE would get all the glory.

Thank you for hanging in with us, through many ups and downs.  We couldn't be more thankful for the people of God that our Father has brought together to be a part of Faith Bible Church!
